Inspects Gold Medal Calves for Fairs
P T Brown of the Purdue Extension Animal Husbandry Department led a team from the County Extension Office and livestock men to inspect 78 Gold Medal calves nominated by 26 Rush county farmers. He noted most calves were gaining well and likely to qualify for Gold Medal Calf Club classes at the fair. War Food Administrator Marvin Jones announced on May 21 the removal of the 300 pound top limit on hog weights eligible for support prices.
