Tractor mower accident injures Carthage youth
Robert Harrold 19 son of Mr and Mrs Richard Harrold of Carthage R R 1 was seriously injured while operating a state highway tractor mower on State Road 109 near Warrington. He jumped to avoid a hole but was crushed under the overturned machine. He was taken to Hancock County Hospital Greenfield then moved to St Vincent Hospital Indianapolis in critical condition with chest injuries and broken bones.

Arlington to Get Dial Telephones Soon
General Telephone says Arlington will switch to dial service on August 12 at 6 a.m. using the two letter prefix MO and five numerals, example MO 3 8646. The Mohawk numbering area will house a new dial central office behind the current building with no staff, and about 430 phones in the Arlington exchange will receive dial instruments.
