Funeral services were held at Johnson Memorial Home Villa Park Illinois for Roy K Billman a former Carthage resident. He died Friday in Chicago after living there 30 years. Surviving are two daughters Mrs Robert Thompson and Mrs Nicholas Marx both of Chicago a brother Paul E Billman of Indianapolis and four grandchildren. Mrs Jesse Kizer of Carthage is his sister in law. The Kizers attended the service and returned home Tuesday evening.

Gene Gardner of Ripley township led the Rush County Dairy Herd Improvement Association with the largest June milk yield per cow. His Holstein herd of 11 cows produced an average of 1344 pounds of milk and 444 pounds of butterfat per cow. A close second was Bearl Addison’s Jersey herd of 8 cows with 44.3 pounds of butterfat.
