Banquet Plans for Rural Carriers Meet in Indianapolis

Bills were approved and street commissioners authorized to purchase a sewer for Walnut and Mill streets. A brick representative selected brick for the pumping station near the wells. Three Knightstown Men Arrested in Rape Case
Ralph Roland a married Knightstown man and drivers Howard Smith and Harry Archibald were arrested Monday and jailed. Roland is charged with rape while Smith and Archibald face charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 17 year old girl from South Madison Street says she was taken by the trio in an automobile to Newcastle and then to Knightstown Park. State Policemen Jake Neal and Fred Forest from Rushville made the arrests.

Deputy county auditor Miss Fern Jordan received two state checks last Thursday. One for 24 252 25 dollars represents the quarterly share of the state gasoline tax to fund the county gravel road repair. The second for 4 230 50 dollars reimburses old age pensions for December through March under the old setup. April and May reimbursements will come from the state public welfare board under the new law.

Young Friends Conference Held at Quaker Haven
The Young Friends Conference and Summer Camp met at Quaker Haven on Duart Lake Indiana attracting over two hundred youths from Walnut Ridge quarterly meeting. 4 H Needletwisters Hold All Day Meeting July 2
