Daughter of Late President Wilson Dies in Cambridge
Mrs. Jessie Wilson Sayre daughter of President Wilson died Monday night at a Cambridge Massachusetts hospital from complications after gall bladder surgery. A longtime Democratic activist she aided Alfred E. Smith in 1928 and served as a senator in 1930. She and her husband hosted President elect Roosevelt on several occasions and she filed Massachusetts electoral votes for Roosevelt and Garner. She is survived by her husband and three children Francis Jr Elinor and Woodrow Wilson Sayre.

Teachers to Hold Institute February 11 in County
County teachers will convene at the court house on Saturday February 11 for an institute. W P Deering of Oakland City College will speak in both sessions and George C Cole state superintendent will address the morning session. No funding exists yet for institutes this season but a small treasury balance remains to cover needed expenses. A committee including Paul Linton J C Hedges and John E Goode arranged the plans.

The Knightstown and Shelbyville Railroad of 1848

Converse’s Jason DeFord won the single ear sweepstakes and Russellville’s Paul McGaugherty claimed the reserve sweepstakes. Halterman, longtime county corn judge, has spent his life in Rush county and is noted as a top local judge.

Federation dues were approved for payment and the next meeting is set for January 31 with Mrs. J. M. Stone.
