Two Bandits Attempt Hold Up at Arlington
The Northam grocery store in Arlington was the scene of an attempted robbery Tuesday evening as two bandits entered at about 8 30 p m and demanded money. Clerk Art Winslow resisted and struggled with the men. One robber fired but Winslow was unharmed. the bandits fled and had not been apprehended at press time.

State Road 109 to be improved in 1941 plans
The Knightstown Warrington route known as State Road 109 in Henry County will be improved by the State Highway Commission in 1941. The 5.8 mile stretch from Road 40 to the Hancock county line will have right of way secured and several curves removed near Montgomery Creek bridge to ease years of poor conditions. The road, once the system’s worst in Henry County, has been temporarily repaired and is now in use while Hancock and Madison counties await further right of way.
