Seventeen members and one guest of the Carthage Service club were hosted by the Fletcher Methodist church ladies for a Monday dinner. President Grant Henley led a regular session in which the group voted to disband meetings for the present, acknowledging the small number could not fulfill guaranteed participation.

Many Baskets Aid Needy Families at Christmas Cheer Club
The Christmas Cheer club organized weeks ago delivered twenty two baskets of food clothing and toys to aid needy families. Trucks donated by Hubert Hunt and Roy Herkless carried out deliveries. Cash donors included Masonic Order Kappa Kappa Sigma Service Club a local school and Sunday services totaling 72.98 with expenses 58.57 leaving 14.41 in the treasury. The club thanks all contributors and hopes to remain a permanent aid organization.

Plan to use conscientious objectors in national work program
Indianapolis January 1 Preliminary plans for a cooperative program under the Selective Service Act would employ conscientious objectors in soil conservation and reforestation projects.
