Worshippers at East Street Christian Church enjoyed a new public address system in the auditorium basement and nursery. The upgrade let attendees hear music from the tower before service and the sermon more clearly. Telephone Rates Are Reduced Across Indiana

General Telephone Company of Indiana to reduce intrastate rates with a 40 cent or less three minute nighttime and Sunday rate after 8 p.m. and all day Sunday. Interstate rates also cut, saving Hoosiers an estimated 2½ million annually. Some long distance charges rise five cents for certain intrastate distances while operator time costs push a ten cent collect call add on to 20 cents.
