Indiana Highway Program Surges With 326 Million in New Roads
Indiana figures show 326 million spent on new construction over three years, with more than 100 million in Interstate work. Since 1956, 1 082 miles of Primary Secondary and Urban roads were completed at 111.9 million, while 70.5 million funds 329.7 miles in progress. Emergency funds added 14.5 million for 250 miles of road plus 18 bridges. Interstate contracts total 102.41 million with 129 miles and 107 bridges in scope. 27 million already open yields 24.7 miles and 49 bridges in place.

Nazarene Church Burns Near Greenfield
The Stringtown Nazarene Church three miles east of Greenfield on U.S. 40 was destroyed by fire Saturday night. A passing motorist reported the blaze around 8 p.m. Fire officials suspected faulty wiring as the probable cause. a neon sign may have sparked the fire. Insurance totals were $14,000 for the building and $1,500 for contents. The Greenfield and Philadelphia departments assisted.
