A child's verse notes favorites among simple toys the ten-cent items delight them the most. A train stops on the track while a Teddy bear rests in a chair and Jumbo lies flat, with the little green sled and tin horse among simple pleasures.
The Ripley Township Community Institute will convene at the Auditorium on Thursday night January 7 and all day Friday January 8. Evening program features music by Farmers Trio Envotation and Milton Gardner Fancy Dance. readings by Rev. J. I. Meyer. address by Judge W. M. Sparks. and a noon intermission with committee appointments. Friday includes 1:15 pm music, reports from committees, announcements of premiums, and addresses on vocational club work and national call to service by Maurice Shirley and Mrs. C. A. Roberts. Everyone in town and country invited to attend and bring dinner.
Two boys Merrel Magee and Howard Zimmerman escaped serious harm when their Ford with closed curtains was struck by a fast southbound Big Four freight train at the First Street crossing north of the depot. The driver reversed to back off the track after Zimmerman yelled a warning. the engine was killed and wheel and fenders damaged, while the train did not stop. The fireman’s awareness is unclear due to the long grade ahead.
Mrs Hettie Ellis and her son Les ter of Greenfield visited sister Mrs J L Hubbard to mark New Year. Cruze Valesqueze, a Mexico City native studying piano action in New Castle, enjoyed his first sled coasting last week.

Dr and Mrs Frank W Creger have returned to Indianapolis after a three months tour of Europe and northern Africa.
Lind say Ramey owes $800 for garage rent as of January 1 1926 and advertising costs. If unpaid by January 23 1926 at 1 30 p m the vehicle will be sold at public sale at East 4th street Carthage Indiana to cover the debt and charges. William Moore

Fogs in London and other cities are low lying cumulus clouds resting near the ground. Impurities in the fogs make them unpleasant to breathe, while sea fogs are the same without pollutants. Some aeronauts report city fogs reaching up to 2,500 feet in height.
