A son named Andrew Morgan was born at Rush Memorial Hospital on December 27. Hospital notices report Herbie Beher admitted to Rush Memorial, Mrs. Jeff Leisure in Jackson Nursing Home, and several local residents convalescing or improving at home. Mrs. John Bieschke was discharged New Year’s Day to convalesce at Knightstown.

Two Hurt in Crest Hill Collision near Greenfield

In Greenfield Indiana two cars collided at the crest of a hill on road 400S southeast of Westland at 6 10 p m Saturday. Donnie V Stephens 35 Rt 2 Carthage drove a 1956 Pontiac with passenger Peg gy Stephens 18 also of Carthage. Kenneth E Jessup 16 Rt 1 Greenfield drove a 1953 Plymouth. Both vehicles were total losses. Jessup cited for failing to display a license plate. Peggy Stephens sustained a knee cut and Jessup a cut on the chin and a broken bone.

Infant Robert Henderson Dies in Greenfield Rites Held

Funeral services were held in Greenfield Tuesday for 11 day old Robert Lee Henderson son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Henderson. The infant died Monday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital. Surviving grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Henderson of Carthage and great grandmother Mrs. Bill Howard of Carthage.

Miss Joy Reddick Highs in Regional Jr Vegetable Contest

Miss Joy Reddick of Centre Township placed second in regional judging of the National Junior Vegetable Growers Association contest. She participated in the special variety trial with Purdue University, is a longtime Rush County 4 H Garden Club member, and earned a Pittsburgh trip December 8 to 13 for state contest honors.

Raiders Win Over Spiceland Easily

Four-School B Team Tournament Set For Milroy

A four-team reserve event at Milroy features New Salem vs Milroy at 1 15 P M with Arlington and Carthage B teams meeting in game two. Winners and losers play consolation and title games at 7 and 815 P M with trophies for champion and runnerup and a sportsmanship award. Only freshmen and sophomores may play. varsity starters are ineligible. Tickets go on sale at schools or at the door with student prices of 30 and 50 cents and adult prices of 50 and 80 cents.

William Freeman Buried At Glencove

William R. Freeman Sr., 60, died Christmas Day at his Mishawaka home after a two year illness. Formerly of Carthage, he is survived by three daughters and three sons. his wife La Vaughn Graff Freeman preceded him in 1931. Rush County Plans Annual Achievement Program on April 1

The Rush County Achievement Program, part of Rural-Urban efforts, will be held April 1 in the Rushville High School multi purpose room. Two New Republican GOP Leaders to Be Chosen in Rush County

Newton L. Halterman resigns as chairman and Mrs. William Hougland steps down as vice-chairman citing ill health. A meeting in the Rush County Courthouse circuit court room at 1 p.m. Saturday will name two new top officials to the Republican Central Committee. Halterman has chaired since February and Hougland since 1956.

Lewis Henderson Attacked by Health Incident Wednesday

Lewis Henderson collapsed at his home Wednesday afternoon. His son Ralph found him and administered oxygen from the local Fire Department supply, reviving him. Doctors suspect a blood clot caused the incident.
