The Town Board of Carthage outlines financing options for a sewer project. It explains front footage assessments, tap-in fees, and monthly sewer bills, proposing to retire the bond issue before service to reduce front foot costs and enable a lower overall project cost for property owners.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Edwards and their sons were present at the Indiana versus Wisconsin basketball game in Bloomington last Saturday.
The Carthage Band Boosters will meet Tuesday March 2 at 7 30 p m in the band room to discuss alumni banquet plans and related matters. All members are urged to attend.
Mrs. Robert Walker came home Sunday evening from Ottaw a Illinois where she had two weeks of hospital treatment. They were weekend guests of Mr and Mrs Malcolm Ruby and family and Jesse Ruby at Crown Point Indiana. Jesse Ruby is visiting Crown Point.
In Rushville Mays Tigers edged Morristown 70 68 as Dave Cloud struck a late winner. Hickman scored 28 with 31 rebounds aiding Mays defense, while Morristown shot 27 of 74 from the floor. Carthage then overwhelmed Morton 86 60 as Porter 22 and Hunt 13 led the Raiders.
New Salem Eagles defeated the Raiders 79 66 as Al Kramer 29 and Linville 20 led the winners in a fourth quarter burst. Donnie Jarman 18 and Kit Porter 21 paced Rushville scorers, while Hunt 19 topped Raiders. Carthage opened with a 39 34 curtain raiser.

Mr and Mrs Leonard Jackson of Ripley Township attended the Rush County Farm Management Association's 17th annual banquet at Moscow School. John L Hendricks the new director and retiring president presided Leonard Jackson gave the invocation. Officers named include President Stanley Boyer Secretary Treasurer Denver Liggett Vice President Don Bacon Directors Raymond Bosse and John Hendricks. Sharlee Harcourt and Cindy Lou Leisure provided music and Don Miller presented a travelogue on their Holy Land and Far East trip.
The Indiana House passed H.R. 1123 by 88 to 0 to codify and update laws governing the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home. It creates a construction fund for repairs and expansion, reshapes admission ages, and lets the Superintendent contract with Rush County schools for some students.
The United Society of Friends Women of Carthage met last Wednesday with 13 members present. Mrs. Stella Humes co-hosted. Plans discussed for clothing boxes to Wyandotte Oklahoma.
