County Tomato Winners Honored at Purdue State School
Rush County's P. L. Curtis of Jackson Township earned reserve state double tonnage tomato club honors after yielding 18.52 tons per acre from 5.8 acres with 350 pounds of fertilizer per acre. Curtis received a $25 war bond from Alfred Norris fertilizer company. Harold Logan of Posey Township earned reserve in 4 H double tonnage with 17.71 tons per acre from 2.3 acres and a $50 war bond. Junior Bever of Ripley Township won a $25 war bond for 4 H tomato club work. Bonds were provided by the Indiana Canners Association.
