Girl Saves Friend From Sea Near Honolulu
Honolulu dispatch dated February seven reports the steamer Nippon Maru narrowly escaped disaster when coal shifted in heavy seas. Miss M Page of Berkeley California was knocked into the water by a wave and saved by Miss Ruth Ragen of Denver Colorado who swam to her side until a life boat rescued them. Ragen, en route to Japan as a YWCA secretary, is linked to Louisville area relatives through Mrs Elizabeth J Hill and Mrs Sarah Hathaway Fraser.

The Purdue Special will arrive in Carthage at 11 27 a m and stay until 5 47 p m February 28. About 200 000 people are expected during the itinerary through nearly 200 villages towns and cities.
