Carr, a Knightstown High School and Earlham graduate, earned a Syracuse MA in psychology in 1958 and is pursuing a PhD on a Public Health Service Fellowship at Syracuse University. Mrs. Avery S. Rawls of Clifton Virginia formerly of Carthage died after failing health and a nursing home stay. She ran the Carthage Hotel for years and was beloved by the community. Survived by two daughters a grandson Dr Paul Gordan Jr and other relatives. Interment was in Virginia.
