Mr and Mrs Bill Pitts Carthage R R are the parents of a son Christopher Jay born December 24 at Rush Memorial Hospital weighing 7 lbs 15 oz. Grandson of Mr and Mrs Jesse Pitts and Mr and Mrs Donald Stoten Jr. are the parents of a girl 8 lbs 12 oz born Thursday at 7 30 am at Rush Memorial Hospital. She is a granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Donald Stoten Sr and great granddaughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Herkless.

Bearl Addison of Rushville Township leads 16 herds of Rush County Dairy Herd Improvement Association with the highest butterfat per cow for 1955-56. Addison’s herd averaged 503.5 pounds per cow with five cows over 500 pounds and two cows between 400 and 500 pounds. A Christmas Day turkey dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ray with guests Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ray and Norrene Ray and Mrs. Ria Gray.

Purdue University announced six extension schools in Rush County this winter starting with a Poultry School on November 26. Principal George Glenn reported money from the office safe, broken and unlocked, in nine Greenfield Banking Co. money bags.
