All money due the Carthage Telephone Company must be settled by January 1 1913. Beginning January 1 town phones will be collected monthly and paid by the tenth. country phones every six months. Delinquent accounts after notice will have service discontinued until paid. Van Hoop manager.
Notice changes the Cantata Around the Manger to Monday night at Fletcher M E church. Invitations go out for the marriage of Robert Henley of Indianapolis to Myrtle Dixie Anderson of Spokane Washington on December 25.
Local society netted 25 dollars from the Christmas bazaar as Mrs Elizabeth J Hill hosted gatherings and visitors from Topeka and Indianapolis were noted in society notes. Merchants in Carthage advertise festive stocks and shop windows glow with holiday displays inviting shoppers downtown after dark.
Mr and Mrs A. C. Watling and daughter Nelle, after traveling from here to Ypsilanti Michigan last May, are due back soon to visit Mr and Mrs R. A. Watling before heading to Redlands California to establish their future home. Also noted are oyster supper hosts Mr and Mrs Tessa Beher with guests Oren Beher Herbie Beher Cleve Beher Helen, and couples Oliver M. Siler Charles Leisure Bert Dalrymple. Rev. J Edgar ff Williams attended in Indianapolis and Robert Buckman of Sodus Michigan visited J. A. Walter’s home. Gurney L. Hunt of Malden Massachusetts arrives for a week with his sister Florence Hunt, with plans to spend part of the holiday season in Martinsville Ohio.
Mrs Zach Crawford visited her daughter Mrs Ernest Mull at Gowdy this week. Donald Warner, a Valparaiso student, visited relatives last week. Leroy Jay bought his last apple barrel for this season at 2.85 dollars per barrel. The Starrs Wilbur Starr of Greencastle will perform the second number of the Lecture Course at Fletcher M. E. church on Thursday night January 2.
