A Bayard Baker piece recounts Heine Milton Homer and Grant confronting blindness with art and writing, then shifts to critique of a proposed code restricting farmer trucking. It argues lost rights to swap labor would raise costs 50 to 75 percent, harming agriculture and daily life.
There is mounting opposition from dairy farmers and others to provisions of the national trucking code now under consideration. Officials and industry leaders aim to curb unfair competition and uneconomic practices, but critics fear the effort will rely on technicalities that undermine the spirit of the measure.

Prairie Farmer advises farmers to ensure ample feeding and watering space and provide a balanced ration to stimulate and maintain egg production. It notes poorly fed birds reduce output and that hens offer a high return on feed compared with other farm animals.
The Indiana Farmer's Guide reports beginners fail to raise adequate poultry meat due to insufficient feed. Wholesalers grade birds by breast quality and No 2 roasters fetch low prices. Producers see losses unless they raise No 1 birds, proving higher quality pays.
