Indiana State Fair judged best in nation

The Indiana State Fair won the blue ribbon as the best show among 135 agricultural expositions in America for 1952. Mrs Small Breaks Hip In Accident

Mrs Ida Small living with Mr and Mrs Walter Mann fell Friday breaking her left leg. She was taken by Thompson ambulance to Rush Memorial Hospital where she had surgery on Wednesday. Her son Malcolm and his wife from Chicago were with her at the hospital.

Gary Smith Injured in Accident Near Carthage

Gary Smith son of Mr and Mrs Harry Smith west of Carthage was injured Saturday morning when a broken chain struck his face. He sustained compound fractures to both jaws and facial cuts and is hospitalized at Henry County hospital New Castle while helping his father pull a pump.

Local service station sold to new owner at Main and Mill

Frank Mourey sells his service station at the corner of Main and Mill streets to Floyd Stevens. Stevens takes active control on December 28, with his son Warren Stevens, a mechanic at Tommie's Service, also joining the new business. Mourey has no definite plans after the sale.
