Big Four Introduces Motorized Trains Between Anderson and North Vernon
The Big Four Railway last Friday began running motor driven morning and evening passenger trains replacing steam service on the Anderson to North Vernon route. A gasoline motor powers electricity for two cars, including power baggage mail and express and a four day coach with 64 seats. Operation requires only two crew members the motor man and the conductor.

Snow melts as sledding yields to icy hills

Death of Thomas Clark Hill 80 in Skull Valley Arizona
Thomas Clark Hill aged 80 died November 21 at Sawtelle California. He resided here until 1875 and served in the Civil War with a few comrades still living in the area. Surviving are his son Silas of Nevada and his brother Irvin M. Hill of Skull Valley.

Lloyd W. Henley fifty dies from a sudden heart attack at his desk in New York City where he served as secretary of a laymen’s committee raising fifteen million dollars for a Presbyterian ministers pension fund. Survived by widow, father George Henley, brothers Bert and Morris, his Carthage birth August 12 1875 and career in Indiana and national politics. Funeral held in Indianapolis with burial at Crown Hill. pallbearers named.

Mrs Rhoda Derbyshire Dies at 90 in Ypsilanti
Mrs Rhoda Derbyshire aged 90 died Tuesday of last week at her Ypsilanti home from pneumonia and a disease compound. She leaves seven nephews and three nieces as survivors. Born November 23, 1835 to Hezekiah S. and Abigail Clark of Posey township, she taught school in the area and at Westland. Three years ago she stayed briefly with Mrs Earnest.

Hand Injury From Corn Picker In Hancock County Farm
Samuel Steele suffered a serious injury to his left hand while gathering corn on his Hancock County farm on Saturday. His hand was caught in a corn picking machine as he attempted to clear downed corn using a stalk. His son reversed the machine to free the hand.
