The Wesleyan Church notes its fifth year in the Blue River charge including Carthage and invites all to a farewell sermon next Sunday at 7 30 p m. The pastor Rev Edward Smithee and family express gratitude for support and friendship while aiming to win more souls to Christ.
Sunday school at 9 30 a m and morning worship at 10 30 a m with Rev Crawley. Union sermon at Friends church 7 30 p m. After services proceed to Amos Hill's grove for a Sunday school picnic. Bring lunch for a pitch in dinner. Young Peoples Society meets at Rev and Mrs Holwager home Monday evening. bus departs McCarty's Drug Store at 7 30.
The Friends Church held the closing Vesper Service at Clyde C Henley’s grave last Sunday evening and announced a new Union Meeting series starting next Sunday. The Social Service Committee hosted a shut in party with ice cream for about 20 friends unable to attend regular services. Rev Crawley will preach and Fletcher M E church choir will sing at the opening service with morning and evening programs listed.
Fletcher M. E. Church reports a joint evening for the Young People's Class and Men's Bible Class with invited guests from Mrs. Limeback's Class. No prayer meeting until September. services and Epworth League scheduled. Report on Epworth League institute by Phyllis Rhodes and others. Union service planned at Friends church next Sunday evening with Rev Crawley eves'c leading singing. Ladies' Aid to meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Ross Parish.
Mr and Mrs Ross Tweedy and family and Dr and Mrs George McNabb and family returned Tuesday evening from a ten day fishing trip to Land o Lakes Wisconsin. En route they visited the World's Fair. They report fishing was poor this year due to very dry weather and note several forest fires causing damage nearby.
Rev and Mrs George M Holwager former residents now in Indianapolis spent last week at the World's Fair in Chicago. They stayed at the Stevens Hotel met by photographers and escorted through the fair by Carroll S Trowbridge Miss Pickford's rep.
Local business men gathered at the public library Tuesday evening to set cooperative hours with the NRA. Ed Williams presided and represented Knights town at a New castle meeting Wednesday night. Another Knightstown meeting is planned tonight to establish the code for Knightstown and likely Carthage.
Miss Sara Grabhorn, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Grabhorn of 426 Euclid Avenue, wed Sunday. The groom, son of Friedrich Loges, and the couple are Purdue graduates who will reside in Niagara Falls New York. Mrs Loges previously taught in local schools.

Mrs. Walter Culbert entertained ten children Wednesday afternoon for Doris Jean Culbertson's sixth birthday. The youngsters played games and enjoyed lunch with ice cream and cake.
