Stoten and Miss Herkless Wed in Indianapolis Ceremony

Miss Mildred Herkless daughter of Mr and Mrs Leroy Herkless and Donald Stoten son of Mr and Mrs John Stoten were married Sunday at 3 PM at Washington Place Indianapolis. Rev F W Sumner officiated. After May 1 the couple will reside in Indianapolis.

Mrs Ralph Gray Improves After Tuesday Surgery

Mrs Ralph Gray underwent a surgical operation Tuesday morning at St Vincent's Hospital Indianapolis and is reported slightly improved. Howard E Henley is among fifteen forming a committee to meet Thursday with the county board of commissioners at the auditor's office about a community building as a war memorial.

Ripley Country Club Meets at Library for April Session

Ripley Country Club met April 16 at the Library with Mrs Ertle Price as hostess. Nine teen members answered roll call. The business meeting covered county convention reports and delegates to upcoming district convention. Mrs R M Whitton gave an engaging talk on Tabdoesgi Architecture. Refreshments were served.

Ralph Cottey of Indianapolis was seriously injured Sunday while his wife three children and his father were killed when their car was struck by a Hoosier Flier traction car at Ingalls. Dr. Allan B. Philpott aged 69 longtime pastor of Central Christian Church in Indianapolis died Sunday. A new motor bus terminal in Indianapolis claimed to be the largest in the world will open May 19. D C Stephenson Earl Klinck and Earl Gentry of Indianapolis were indicted on first degree murder in the death of Madge Oberholtzer. they disappeared after the death but were arrested Monday.

Hinkey Doodle Town play to aid tornado district farmers

A play titled Hinkey Doodle Town will be performed Wednesday April 29 at 7 45 p m in the Auditorium Theatre Carthage by the Farm Bureau of Noble Township. Proceeds benefit farmers in the tornado district southern Indiana. Fifteen characters and local orchestra. Admission 10 and 25 cents. Bring the family and tell your neighbors.

Trustee’s Sale of Walnut Ridge and Carthage School Property

Trustee Thomas J Passwater of Ripley School Township announces two public sales. At 1 pm May 29 1925 the Walnut Ridge School property including 13 acres and building with organ stove and pump will be sold on the district ground. At 3 pm the Carthage School site will offer only a double toilet within the Carthage building. All cash, trustee may reject bids.
