Carrs visit Seattle as son promoted at University of Washington

Mr and Mrs A J Carr of Knightstown R R and their son Jonathon returned from a vacation with Dr and Mrs John E Carr and family in Seattle Washington. Dr Carr a psychiatrist was promoted to assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Washington Medical School. Jack attended Carthage grade schools and belongs to the Friends Meeting. The family plans to visit Knightstown and Carthage in August.

Palm Beach area hosts Downey student for NASA conference

Paul Winslow of Downey California spent the weekend with his mother Mrs Ione Winslow before leaving Sunday for Cocoa Beach near Cape Kennedy. He will attend the NASA Structures and Materials Conference and present a paper on Behavior In Metals In Space.

Watkins Family Visits Indiana Relatives for Three Weeks

Earl Addison is at his daughter's home in Indianapolis after release from Henry County Hospital. Mrs. Addison cares for flu recovery at their son's home in Greenfield. Mrs. Caleb Marsh had surgery at Henry County Hospital Monday. Carl Carson Sr. re entered Rush Memorial Hospital early Tuesday. Flora Hunt remains about the same at home. Container Corp. hosts safety award dinner in Rushville

The Container Corp. of America Plant held a safety award dinner on Tuesday evening April 12 1966 at the Durbin Hotel in Rushville honoring 23 people for completing nine full years without a lost time accident or injury. Ralph Mosier led the group with Wilbur McCorkle as Safety Director presiding. Frank Wantz and John Shields offered congratulatory messages. The Carthage Mill reported ten months without a lost time accident.

Conley Baby Dies of Cancer in Indianapolis Hospital

Melanie Ann Conley, 17 months old and daughter of Bradley and Bonnie Dyer Conley of Carthage R R J Carthage, died Sunday in Riley Hospital Indianapolis after 14 months with stomach cancer. Former Resident Dwight Sims Dies Suddenly At 50

Dwight Carter Sims of Muncie died suddenly Wednesday at his home from an apparent heart attack. Shelbyville Airman Receives Air Medal for Rescue

Airman First Class Joseph W. Ash of Shelbyville Indiana received the Air Medal for meritorious achievement as a rescue mission crew chief in the South China Sea. Local Students Attend Purdue Day At Purdue University

Six local students accompanied by Mr Robert Wright joined a Purdue Day program at the university. Kenneth Waits led the delegation with assistance from several former Purdue students handling transport. Morning campus tours and afternoon discussion groups were held along with a gym tour and a special adult session led by Professor John Dunbar.
