Narrow escape from 2200 volt line at Carthage power plant
Fred F. Brenan owner of the Carthage Electric Light Plant narrowly escaped instant death when a live 2200 volt line flashed and burned his hand after he reached for an exposed wire. He stood on a glass stool and saved himself by turning off the current. He suspects a fallen high tension line caused the mishap and vows new safety tests after lamps are trimmed weekly.

Vermillion Grove Illinois resident Emery J Rees delivered a Sunday afternoon lecture at the Friends church. He described years of South and East Africa missionary work with the Friends Africa Industrial Mission and noted his translation of the Gospel of Mark for local native languages. A token was collected to cover meeting expenses. The public sale of Violet Addison’s household effects is set for Saturday at 2 PM.

A Sunday Friends church service collected cash for famine relief in China. total funds since delivery reach $60 forwarded through Washington.
