Funeral services were held for William F. Cooper at Rhoton Funeral Home after he was shot and killed at his northeast Denton county home on Friday February 4. Sheriff and constable reports indicated his wife faced bond set at 6000 dollars and was released after bond was posted. The tragedy followed by a barn fire on the Cooper property Saturday night.

Kenneth Branch seven year old son of Mr and Mrs Jack Branch suffered a skull fracture and minor bruises when he ran into a moving auto Saturday night. He was carried to Parkland Hospital where an operation was performed to lift the fractured skull portion free of pressure. He withstood the operation well and appeared in good condition after. The boy, thirsty after the incident, dashed across the street and failed to notice the car, resulting in a violent fall on the pavement.
