Cubs and Boy Scouts earn the Ad Altare Dei Emblem as part of a Catholic faith based study. The program fosters personal and spiritual growth through active living of Catholic beliefs. Rev. Joe Dillinger of St. Lawrence Parish served as counselor.
The Our New Baby program helps children ages 3 to 12 prepare for a new infant. It features a sibling film, a tour of the newborn nursery and Mom's room, and a chance to hold and diaper a baby. Photos attach to the crib. children may bring a doll. Pre-register by phoning 792-8243.
Amanda Miller a 15 year old home schooled student from Lanesboro has been chosen as a state finalist in the Miss Iowa American Coed Pageant set for Labor Day weekend September 1 to 3 at Des Moines Downtown Marriott. She is the daughter of Mike and Sue Miller with grandparents Kenny Elaine Johnson and Darlene Miller and Lavon Hudson as great grandfather. Miller excels in piano and vocal study, volunteers, works part time at Farner Bocken, and was honored with Spirit of America and Outstanding Participation trophies after being sponsored by local businesses to compete.
