Blues headliner Beck y Barksdale tops Manning festival
The Manning festival lineup features Becky Barksdale of Los Angeles as the headliner, bringing a sizzling blues act after touring with Michael Jackson and releasing Real Live on Spinout Records. Co headliners include Joens, Che Zaro, and the Four Shillings Short, with Gild and Erik Koskinen also on the bill. The Hausbarn Heritage Park event runs Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5, admission four dollars for adults and two for children aged 6 to 12.

Auburns Three-Point Contest Opens Summer Celebration
Auburns annual summer celebration features a three point basketball contest extended registrations past Aug 13. McCarty says 132 contestants have signed up. entry fees vary by residency. The winner earns one third of the sale price of a house currently listed at 37900. The event also includes rides, shows, a beer garden, waffles, and other family activities. Roy Reiman funds the prize by donating proceeds from the sales of a house he purchased for the McCarty family.

Carroll County Treasurer reports statements mailed yearly in August. Property tax can be paid in fall or in two installments with delinquencies on September 30 and March 31. Automatic payments available by Sept 15. Check payments use the courthouse drop box. For questions call 792-1200.
