Gradual Cotton Marketing Movement Planned in South
The Cotton States Official Advisory Marketing Board will meet in Orleans, Louisiana on July 1 to plan a three-farmer per militia district pledge system limiting monthly cotton sales to 20 percent. The move aims to stabilize markets while aiding distressed cotton, with farmers free to hold longer if desired. Georgia urges early wheat planting and seed selection, hoping two acres per farm go to wheat to boost next year’s crop. The Georgia Market Bureau promotes sowing peas for hay to use idle land and secure a market for all hay produced.
