Report on the Financial Status of A M Fair

The Fourth District A M Fair Association reports a current deficit of 1557.46 with assets from buildings and permanent property. Secretary Matthews and President Smith released the statement noting prior indebtedness and a guarantee fund of about 500 from Carrollton businessmen that will reduce the 1914 deficit, while board concerns over ongoing viability and public cooperation persist.

Buchanan Postoffice Burglaries Hit Local Office

Burglars entered the Buchanan Georgia postoffice January 26 and took about $10 in stamps and a few cents. They cut a gap near the lock to enter and did not breach the vault, suggesting local culprits. Government officials were notified and a detective may be assigned to the case.

Carroll County Ginning Totals Rise Amid Record Cotton

Government report shows Carroll County ginned 42 638 bales by January 16 1915 up from 39 517 a year earlier. The two week period in January 1915 yielded 1 356 bales, about five times the 277 bales in the same period of 1914, signaling the biggest crop and substantial on hand.

Ernie Adamson, 21, son of Rep W G Adamson, wed Katherine Cowdrey, 20, in Atlanta on December 30. The couple, who kept the secret until Washington learned, traveled to Jacksonville and then to the capital, while families handled postmarriage arrangements.

Sunday School Census Planned for Carrollton

A city meeting at City Hall led by Rev W K E Dozier laid plans for a Carrollton Sunday School Census. W E Dozier was named chair, L K Smith secretary, with committees formed to district the city and prepare canvassing cards. Census day set for February 9 to count the entire white population. Canvassers from each church will work in assigned districts and meet February 8 for instruction. Church representatives attended from Tabernacle Baptist First Baptist Presbyterian Methodists Episcopal and Christian.
