Friends mourn the death of Mr Jack Head, brother of Mr George Head, at his Albuquerque home. Well known in Carrollton, his passing is a source of sincere regret among his many friends. Remains will be brought to Atlanta at week’s end for funeral and interment.
The Woman's Missionary Society of the M. E. Church will meet Monday afternoon February 9 at 3 pm with Mrs. Dollie Bass. The program includes Bible study The Missionary Christ Conquests of the Cross in China Korea Brazil Mexico Cuba Africa Under Stars and Stripes, a selected quartet, a reading At the Portal by Nell Meadows and closing prayer.
Death notice for Ed Martin who died at his home two miles south of Carrollton on Monday morning. He lived about 60 years, recalled as a teacher and community figure. He was a devoted husband and father, a Christian, and respected for honesty. Funeral services were held at Stripling's Chapel with a large gathering offering sympathy to the wife and children.

At a Tuesday board session of the A. and M. Fair Association the 1914 event was laid out with plans for a larger exhibit and broader attractions. Directors pledged to raise gate prices to 85 cents for adults and 10 cents for grand stand seats to cover deficits seen in prior fairs while stressing the nonprofit, county service focus and volunteers’ sacrifice. Dates for the fair were not announced.
Judge S Price Gilbert of the Superior court Muscogee is buying the Columbus Enquirer Sun. The purchase places him in control of editorial policy and marks a notable move in Georgia journalism.

Secretary John Matthews expresses confidence that weather will be favorable for the five days from October 13 to 17, noting Grier's almanac over the Ladies Birthday almanac after reference to past forecasts. He recalls last year's similar timing and expects a settled outcome this year as well.

Government agents S M Down and Dr W Bradford visit Carrollton to gauge support and funding for continuation of the demonstration and corn club program. Only about one third of the $500 goal has been subscribed, though local leaders say residents recognize the program’s value and urge funding to avoid stopping the work. Mr Jackson may be reassigned if funds are not secured. Coweta has pledged more. The county has only a few days left to act before the program stops.
Obituary notes Prof L D Wheeler 69 died at sister Mrs N B Campbell’s home in Sardis Kentucky after long Carrollton residency. Renowned pianist and composer. left Carrollton for Kentucky in 1911. illness struck in December. Also mentions county farm demonstration agents funding push and need for local support to retain services.

Mrs Alonzo Alexander hosted the Willing Workers on Tuesday afternoon at her Dixie street residence. A very interesting program was presented followed by a social hour. The hostess served a tempting salad course.
T C Bray and Son, a relatively new contracting firm in Carrollton, has moved to Room 35 in the First National Bank building. Mr Bray notes he chose Carrollton for its prospects and credit the firm’s rapid early success to sound location and business judgment.
Miss Addie Bell and Mr Garry Grice of the Tallapoosa community were married last Sunday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by T. A. Bonner. Friends of both couples extend heartfelt wishes for happiness.
