War meeting in Sullivan Sunday inspires town
A large open air war meeting is planned at City Park in Sullivan on Sunday June 9 at 3 30 pm. Private Schuyler C Mowrer a returned soldier who served with Pershing's First Division will be the principal speaker. The event will feature Sullivan City Band music and the unfurling of the W S S Honor Flag earned for going over the top. Committees prepared to handle a large crowd urging all Sullivan county citizens to attend.

Purcell Heads to Camp Sheridan for Summer Training
William Purcell a sophomore at Indiana University and member of the Reserve Officers Training Corps spent several days at home with his parents before returning to Bloomington to join Camp Sheridan for an entire summer of military training. The ROTC unit mainly consists of men under draft age and prepares them for immediate service when needed.
