Dr Riley Halstead renowned lecturer visits Aug 14 at the M B E church. Admission is 25 cents. Proceeds go to Indianapolis Methodist hospital and deaconess home project worth 200000 dollars. Lecture starts at eight p m and aims to entertain while supporting a worthy cause.

The Carlisle Methodist Church holds its quarterly meeting this week with Elder H. C. Clippinger from Vincennes preaching Friday night. Johnson of Wheatland conducts morning services and Rev Clippinger preaches again Sunday night with the sacramental service observed.
A large pond on Dr W A Lisman’s 300 acre farm near town is being upgraded with a new dam and filtration system. Workers will offer blue grass banks gravel approaches and steel fencing with plans for boating swimming and a tranquil retreat.
Promoters plan an electric interurban to connect Vincennes and Linton with stages to Pleasantville Freelandville and Bicknell. A corporate charter will be sought and capital adequate to build and equip a top Indiana line. Surveying starts soon with work expected this fall per Bicknell News.
Mr. Hooper, local representative of Jordan Poultry Company, has resigned and will leave Greenville once his replacement is found. He plans Olney headquarters and will represent a Correspondence School of Boston. He leaves behind many friends and likely begins new duties by September 1.
George Miller and his wife, with the wife’s mother Mrs Anna V Ridgway and Mrs Paulina J Alumbaugh, left last Tuesday for Denver via Vincennes and St Louis. They will stay at least three months visiting Pueblo and Colorado Springs for rest and health benefits.
