Caribou County Immunization Clinic Set For December 2

Caribou County will hold a monthly immunization clinic on Thursday December 2 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM in the public health nurse's office at the courthouse. The clinic offers DTP DTP-Polio oral OPV MMR and rubella vaccines with infants eligible from 144 to 2 months and routine vaccination for small children as indicated.

Cardettes Win Second Place In Drill Team Competition

The Soda Springs High School Cardette team earned the second place overall trophy in the maxi division at the second annual drill team contest in the Mini-Dome Pocatello on November 20. About 1500 girls across 27 teams competed, including Soda Springs being the smallest maxi squad with 26 marchers. The Cardettes also performed at the Weber-ISU football game halftime show Saturday night.

Grace City Board Retires Sewer Bonds Early

At the November meeting the Grace City Board voted to retire an additional $6,000 in water and sewer revenue bonds. This brings total prepayment to $26,000, significantly reducing interest as the bonds are retired 14 years before their due date.

Christmas Tree Cutting Permits On Caribou Forest Now Available

The Soda Springs Ranger District of Caribou National Forest will sell single Christmas tree permits for one evergreen tree up to eight feet tall with a six inch stump. Permits cost $1 and areas for cutting will be described when tags are issued. Sales run 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday starting November 22 at the Soda Springs Ranger Station. Dress warmly and ensure snow equipment is functioning as remote areas may have three to five feet of snow and near freezing temperatures.

Caribou County farmers must return ballots by December 1 to be counted. Ballots mailed November 17 will be publicly tabulated by the ASCS County Committee at 10 a.m. December 3. Nominees are listed for the four community committees in Wayan era Soda Springs Grace Bancroft. Eligible voters include farm owners tenants and others connected to eligible farms.

Seven Cardinals Honored by All-District Football Selections

The 1971 Soda Springs High School Cardinal football team placed seven players on the Southeastern Idaho Conference all star list. Dave Robinson earned first team guard and defensive end honors. Charles Titcomb Kent Allen El Hors tes Titcomb were first/second team selections. honorable mentions went to Terry Phelps Boots Bish and Kim Pugmire. All seven seniors, per Coach Keele, may be hard to replace next year.
