District Water Meetings Set for Soda Creek Bear River Districts

Loy Johnson of the Idaho Department of Water Administration announces that Water District Meetings to elect water masters and set the 1973 irrigation season budget will be held March 5, 1973. District No. 11 meets at 2:00 PM in the Caribou County Court Room Soda Springs, and District 11 B meets at 2:00 PM in the Caribou County Court House Soda Springs.

Fire damages Soda Springs activity bus before debate trip

A 1956 Soda Springs School District activity bus was damaged by fire at 5:50 AM near the bus barn while being prepared for a debate tournament in Blackfoot. Firefighters arrived quickly, limiting damage to the mid passenger compartment, spare tire, wiring, and underparts. Origin undetermined. bus had been in district service about a year. another bus covered the trip.

Daly Wins Wyoming Press Honors for Reporting

Brian Daly of Soda Springs received first place awards from the Wyoming Press Association for a picture story Auction and a scenic photo New Year’s Sun, plus second place for a non illustrated feature Hanna Mining Capital of the World. Daly is a Soda Springs High School and University of Wyoming journalism graduate and works at the Rapid City Journal.

Idaho Snowmobile State Championship Draws Global Field

Barn Destroyed By Fire At Grace

A Grace ranch barn on the Wayne Anderson property burned early Tuesday. Grace Fire Department responded at 7:30 a.m. preventing spread to nearby structures including a new barn under construction. Milking equipment and tools were saved. the barn housed straw and 35 cows. The fire was caused by an overloaded electric circuit.
