Caribou Posse to Stage Grace Show at County Fairgrounds

The Idaho Southern Division Posse plans a Grace show at the Caribou county fairgrounds on July 9 sponsored by the Caribou county posse with Glen Irving as announcer and Rex Bassett as arena director. Malad Bannock and Rockland posses join in the event with a judged street parade at 11 30 a m and an afternoon program at 1 pm followed by an evening program at 8 pm.

District Judge John Carver sentences Hale R Groundsma to five years for parole violation following a California arrest. Gromdsma, paroled in 1953 for bad checks, had parole breached July 1954. Ag Station Field Day at University of Idaho Tetonia

Farmers are invited to a field day at the high altitude agricultural experiment station near Tetonia Idaho on July 7. Superintendent Hugh McKay says the event will showcase snow mold control grain alfalfa and grass varieties and seed nursery work. The tour begins at 1030 and runs into the afternoon visitors should bring lunches the station will provide ice cream and paper cups.

Members of Soda Springs American Legion Post No 62 budget an extra $100 for pyrotechnics the annual Fourth of July celebration featuring a parade kids races and a rodeo at the airport starting about 9 a.m. Admission is free. Soda Springs band may skip the town July 4 festivities if turnout for practice does not improve. James Stoker, summer band director, urges high school students and interested adults to attend Friday and Saturday practices to prepare drums and clarinets for the celebration.

Yost Driver Injured in One Car Crash East of Bancroft

Denis R. Yost of Bancroft was the driver in a one car accident six miles east of Bancroft on a county road early Sunday. He was in a 1950 Ford owned by Victor Darlington when a U turn sent the car onto the shoulder and overturned. Front doors and windows were damaged. estimated damage set at 250 dollars. Sheriff Marriott investigated the crash.

Soda Springs to Host July Fourth Rodeo and Parade Schedule

Soda Springs and Caribou County plan a July 3 and 4 celebration with a Sunday and Monday rodeo at Stampede grounds and a city parade July 3. Events include saddle bronc bareback and team tying contests plus a Caribou County Posse drill and a fireworks finale. Admission costs apply for the rodeo with free Legion events.

Lode Claims Filed Near Enoch Valley

J M Fraser and Charles Call of Soda Springs filed five mining claims this week in County Recorder Colin Chester's office. The lode claims lie about three quarters of a mile east of the northeast corner of Enoch Valley.

County Farm Bureau Plans 4-H Picnic at Diamond Creek

The Caribou County Farm Bureau met Wednesday night at the office in Soda Springs to discuss the fair and related 4-H activities. A picnic for all 4-H boys and girls was approved for August 26 at the Youth Camp on Diamond Creek, with 340 4-H youths enrolled in the county. Ellwood Stephens chaired the meeting and Mrs Herman Smith urged youth participation in the event.
