Survey Team To Conduct Interviews In Soda Springs
A research team from the Government Research Institute at Idaho State University will conduct interviews in Soda Springs during June 21 to 25. Directed by Dr R John Eyre the team will speak with local officials to identify major problems and gather information for winter and spring 1971 workshops aimed at setting priorities regional goals and fostering Idaho community development.
Idaho survey to include 18 cities for action programs
Dr Eyre says workshops will be sponsored by the Government and several Idaho institutions. The full project Developing Action Programs in Idaho Communities is funded by Title I of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and run by the Idaho Office of Higher Education.

Law Enforcement Group Honors Former Justice of the Peace
DeVal Gillett received a commemorative plaque for 24 years as Justice of the Peace in Caribou County at the June meeting of the Law Enforcement Group in Grace. Governor Andrus signed the certificate. Herb Walters presented it. Gene Lee, director of the Police Academy at Pocatello, spoke at the luncheon about training goals and standards for Idaho officers. Eighteen members and guests attended.

Immunization Clinic Slated for July 1 at Courthouse
The Public Health Nurse's office will host a monthly immunization clinic on Thursday July 1 from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Infants as young as six weeks may be immunized. First graders should have up to date vaccines before school starts. Vaccines offered include DPT, smallpox, polio, measles, and rubella.
Dennis Hansen Named Dimes Chairman in Soda Springs
Dennis Hansen of Soda Springs was appointed chairman of the Caribou County Chapter of the National Foundation-March of Dimes with Jerry L. Wray as secretary treasurer. Idaho Representative Thomas Et-Abbott announced the appointment and discussed vaccines for rubella and Rh incompatibility prevention now licensed in the United States. The March of Dimes supports over 100 Birth Defects Centers including the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City and backs prenatal care and health education programs.

Teenager Dies in Morning Crash Near Grace
David Hyrum Nelson 18 of Grace was killed when a 1970s car skidded off State Highway 34 near the Gene Olsen lime south of Grace about 2 a.m. Blaine Smith and Kevin Peterson were treated and released at Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Bannock LDS Stake Center with local clergy and many pallbearers named.

Exchange Doctors Here This Summer
Six doctors from the west coast will work one day a week in Montpelier Downey and Soda Springs under the Intermountain Regional Medical Exchange Program. They will teach local staff and give resident consultations with Soda Springs on Tuesdays. Dates span June to Sept with various specialties including general surgery plastic surgery orthopedics and vascular surgery. Alice Hansen returned home after a week's stay in Logan LDS Hospital.
