The Iota Chapter of Alpha Nu State will host the annual state convention in Soda Springs June 11 13. Blanche Senft Alpha Nu State President will preside. Dr Mary Frances White International President and Elsie Lindgren International Achievement Award recipient 1970 will speak. Activities include a picnic luncheon president banquet general sessions and a local sightseeing tour. Registration starts 11 a.m. June 11 at Soda Springs High School.

Death of Mrs. Cliff Parsons After Heart Attack
Clara Parsons aged 59 died suddenly from a heart attack in a Crawford Nebraska hospital while visiting relatives after Memorial Day. She was born May 4 1912 at Verdel Nebraska to Perry and Hannah DeKay and married Cliff Parsons on November 25 1931. They ran a Western Auto Store in Soda Springs since 1937. Funeral Thursday at 1 pm at the Presbyterian Church with Rev David Crawford. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. Allen Funeral Home in charge. Survived by husband, one brother Marvin De Kay of Soda Springs, and several nieces and nephews.

Teacher awarded traineeship grant from state

She will attend Utah State University in Logan and leave June 13 for graduate work in teaching children with learning disabilities.

Odds and Ends Sale aids Caribou Memorial Hospital
Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosts its annual Odds and Ends Sale at the Masonic Hall in Soda Springs on June 16 and 17 from 9 am to 6 pm with early drop offs June 14 and 15. Volunteers will collect clothing, furniture, dishes, appliances, yard and camping gear, toys and books. Proceeds fund hospital needs including an $800 surgical lamp.

Forest Service Highlights Livestock Grazing On National Forest
The Soda Springs District of Zaribou National Forest begins grazing from June 6 with 2365 cattle and over 22 000 sheep on five cattle and four sheep allotments for 1971. Rangers and permittees oversee water developments and fencing while asking the public to drive carefully, not molest animals, and close gates to keep stock in their units.
