Linda Eliason-Kern will marry Kern H Crump in a Sept 15 ceremony at the Logan LDS Temple. Parents Mr and Mrs Elmo Elison of Malta Idaho announce the nuptials. Crump, son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Crump of Marta, is a North Gem High School and Utah State University alum who served an LDS mission in West Germany. A Malta reception is planned for Sept 16 and they will live in Chesterfield where Crump farms.
Congressman Ival Hansen announced that the United States Coast Guard Academy will begin accepting and processing applications in August for Class of 1977 cadet appointments. The program offers a four year academic path to a bachelor of science and a commission as an officer in America's oldest seafaring service. Appointments are based on a nationwide competition with no geographic quotas.
Mrs Myrle Steele of Grace attended the 52 annual convention American Legion Auxiliary Department of Idaho in Lewiston July 12 16. She was department chairman for children and youth and was elected first vice president for Idaho. She was asked to be a personal page for the national convention in Chicago August 17 25.
