Chief Don Salser warned fires outside the city limits likely started by cross border purchases, urging a stop to Ida ho residents buying in Wyoming to prevent costly disasters and damage.

Bancroft Rodeo Queen Contest Tryouts Set for July 14
Bancroft will hold a Rodeo Queen contest on July 14 at the Rodeo grounds for single girls aged 14 to 20. Former queens cannot reenter. A queen and two attendants will be chosen to reign over Pioneer Day events. Pioneer Day is celebrated on July 23 this year because the 24th falls on a Sunday, with a lineup including a chuckwagon breakfast parade children's races the afternoon rodeo and an outdoor dance.

Grace Youths Hurt As Fireworks Explode In Car
Five Grace youths were treated at a Montpelier hospital after a large firecracker exploded inside their car. Injuries included burns cuts and ear injuries to Dale Wayne Sullivan Steven Swensen Larry Allen David Fowler and Allen Turner. A lit firecracker supposedly dropped into a box of other fireworks near the seat, causing a blast that blew the windshield out and damaged doors and seats east of Montpelier near the Wyoming border.

A wind storm described as a small tornado toppled a large steel granary in Mrs. Laura Adams yard in Grace on Saturday afternoon. The structure was moved about 200 yards from its original site near Gem Valley Grain Growers. Trees lost limbs and TV antennas were torn from roofs as the storm hit about 3 30 p m.

Caribou County residents exceeded the 150 pint goal at a Red Cross blood drive in Soda Springs, donating 164 pints. Dorothy Herron, chairman, noted it as the summer drive's highest total.
