Speaking of Taxes Speaking of Taxes

Max Yost of the Associated Taxpayers of Idaho argues Idaho's education quality compares well to the nation. He cites three measures from the 1972 Family Almanac: AFQT pass rates, dropout rates, and median years of schooling, noting higher spending per capita or per student is not the primary factor.

July 4th Parade study and Idaho pupil-teacher ratio

The New York Times ranks Idaho 16th nationwide in pupil teacher ratio with 24.1 pupils per teacher. Including all professional personnel would further drop the ratio in most states. Idaho’s ratio matches California and trails Utah at 27.1. The piece argues spending more does not guarantee a ten percent improvement and urges Idaho to lead in cost per student efficiencies. Also reports a Bails family reunion in Coalville Utah and several local updates on weddings, employment, and LDS missionary arrivals.
