Weed Schools To Start Here Jan. 10

Weed schools for farmers are conducted in January by the University of Idaho in four counties. Teton opened January 8 and 9. Caribou January 10-11. Cassia January 17-18. Oneida January 21-22. Christmas Seal Campaign Falls Short of Goal

The Idaho Tuberculosis Association reports the Christmas Seal Campaign is $15,000 short of its $75,000 goal, with $60,000 received so far. Funds support tuberculin skin testing in Magic Valley and planned programs in Idaho Falls and the upper Snake River Valley, plus chest X-rays, educational materials, and public health services for TB research and patient support.

Bear River project hearings show opposition at Grace Preston

Public hearings called by Governor Smylie on the Bear River Oneida Narrows project drew strong opposition at Grace and Preston with only Preston showing notable support. Montpelier's hearing saw unanimous opposition to the proposed 86 million dollar plan though some speakers urged revisions. Jess Crowther Dies Monday in Caribou County Hospital

Jess Crowther of Logan who worked for Thomas Harris of Soda Springs for five years died Monday evening in Caribou County Hospital after illness. Funeral services were planned for Crowther in Soda Springs with burial at a local cemetery.
