New Size and Shape Rules for Mailing Pieces

Post Office Department enforces size limits effective January 1963 for envelopes cards and self mailers must be at least 3 by 4.5 inches and rectangular. Envelopes wider than 9 inches or longer than 12 inches or with a width to length ratio under 1 to 1.414 are not recommended or nonmailable unless compliant.

Grace Defeats Preston 45 41 on home floor

Grace jumped to an early 18 8 lead aided by Lynn Rowsell who scored eight of his 15 in the first quarter. Preston rallied with Woodrow Rasmussen sparking a 6 0 run to seize a 36 34 edge in the third, but Grace reclaimed the lead late as Viker Craig and Rowsell pushed the final push to secure a 45 41 victory.

Airman Kingsford Graduates, Reassigned to Paine Field

Airman Third Class Grant P Kingsford of Grace has graduated from the Air Force technical training course for jet aircraft mechanics at Amarillo Air Force Base Texas and will be reassigned to Paine Field Washington. He trained to maintain and service jet aircraft and systems and is a Grace High School graduate who enlisted in July 1962. he is the son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Kingsford.

Volunteers Needed For K. C. Polio Clinic

East Idaho seeks volunteers for a three phase polio immunization drive using Sabin oral vaccine across 16 eastern counties. Clinics run eight hours with 28 volunteers per site, aiming 40 public clinics per phase and 1120 volunteers overall, under Dr Russell Tigert supervision. Donations of 25 cents per dose are requested but no one is refused.

Economic Activity Forecast Good For 1963

The November Monthly Review of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco projects firmer economic activity in 1963 with record October nonagricultural employment and rising durable goods orders. Twelfth District steel output fell 3.6 percent in October and remained 10 percent below 1961, while unemployment at 5.7 percent in October, national 5.5 percent, rose to 5.8 percent in November. Lumber demand is weak amid mild weather and price declines persist since July, with British Columbia mills booking large timber shipments at prices below October levels. District banks show reserve pressures and higher loans in late October to November.

Funeral services for Ethel Hoshine Call a pioneer resident of Bancroft were held Friday December 28 at Bancroft Ward D Chapel conducted by Bishop Glenn Frost. Call died Tuesday December 25 at her Bancroft home of cancer. The family prayer was by Joseph Lloyd with organ preludes and postludes by Marjorie C Christensen. Glenns Ferry Man Named State Sportsman Award Recipient

James Pasborg of Glenns Ferry has been named by the Idaho Landholder-Sportsman Council as this year's farm er-sportsman. He received a bronze plaque from the Idaho Wildlife Federation for meritorious services through the years, with Alvin Benson noting Pasborg’s work to improve relations among hunters fishermen and property owners.
