IRS Explains Price Increase Rules Under Stabilization Program
Internal Revenue director Calvin E. Wright of Idaho says price hikes under the Economic Stabilization Program must be justified by cost increases in effect after November 14 1971. He notes the goal is to limit average rises to 2.6 percent annually but allows higher or lower changes only if costs justify them and stresses that posting requirements must be met before any increase.

Start of Fish Creek Highway Likely At Summit Not Lava Edge
State Highway Department engineers propose starting the Fish Creek highway at the Summit rather than Lava Hot Springs edge to reduce erosion. Environmental concerns drive the plan, with rock lining ditches and deer crossings considered. Federal beautification rules and right of way issues influence timing and site choices as plans extend toward Lund, Bancroft, and ultimately a US 30 shortcut. Idaho’s I-15 extension hopes fade amid stalled interstate mileage.
