Santa to Open Soda Springs Christmas Shopping Season

Santa Claus will appear Saturday December 10 across from the padie to mark Soda Springs Christmas opening. The event blends Chamber of Commerce and city efforts for a single Community Day with free treats and a possible free movie. Merchants plan prize slips in bags to bring shoppers, as city lights and decorations go up for Saint Nick's visit.

A Soda Springs meeting of local farmers last Monday night resulted in chartering a Farmers Union chapter. Thomas K. Gunnell was elected president Diggs Lewis vice president Merle Cellen secretary. Caribou BPW Club Organized With 49 Members

At a Soda Springs dinner in the Angling Club dining room Grace and Ban croft organized the Caribou Business and Professional Women's Club. Mrs Faye Evans presided with 49 charter members and guests present including state president Mrs Anne Daniel and ex state president Miss Virginia Hawk. Daniel spoke on the club's purpose and history. Former Resident Mary Calking McGavin Dies at 78

Mary Calking McGavin 78 longtime Soda Springs and Idaho Falls resident died November 20 after a long illness in Idaho Falls General Hospital. Ski Club Plans For Big Year At Soda Springs

The Soda Springs Ski Club announces a big year with widening of the hill and a jump rebuilt to 130 feet. Soda Springs Presbyterians elect Rev Lincoln Anderson pastor

Members and supporters of Soda Springs Presbyterian church voted to call Rev Lincoln Anderson of Sinclair Wye as pastor. The formal call will be made Sunday at 3 pm in Aberdeen after a service by Dr Walton Rath. Anderson plans to start January 1984 and will oversee duties in Soda Springs and Montpelier.
