A boiler explosion on a George Hufford farm near Bellevernon Tymochtee township destroys a portable steam engine built by Geo B Stevenson & Co. Disher & Co. and injures several workers. Melvin Rush dies instantly. Ben Willoughby badly burned. Henry Beery and Ben Walton injured.
Toledo has raised her stock subscription to add to 135000 dollars as aid and nearly complete the 365000 allotted to the city. Prospects favor further increases for Fosteria to secure the line and ensure construction. Immediate steps will secure right of way along the entire route.

Mrs Emma Gregg wife of Franklin Gregg died after a lingering illness at their Tymochtee residence on Sunday the 26th. She was a kind Christian mother to four children and a tender wife. Funeral services were held at the M E Church in Hellevorni last Sunday with a large crowd attending. Philips of Oceola preached the sermon.
Peter Reuter a German immigrant and farmer living three miles north fell prostrate binding oats and died within minutes. He was about 54 and had recently suffered bereavement over his wife’s death. He had lived in the area 18 years and was esteemed as a neighbor and citizen. Funeral services were held at the five Church at 10 o clock yesterday conducted by Rev My. Vandar Salle.
A fragment folk ballad about a mean little one horse town in Ohio hints at dull life and social tattle. The piece mentions a bore named Larry Tising and neighbors observing late night visitors and jokes while town routines persist.
A runaway disrupted a buggy ride injuring no one seriously while the piece details a Wyandot County sub district school term from May to August 1873. It mentions a camp meeting at Camp Ground three miles from town with Mr Eichelberger hosting a dinner and preaching and singing in a wooded 70 acre site.

The boy vanished from an asylum. Father Crogan presses for the child’s whereabouts. Priest Father Laux and Peter Bosmer defer details. Habeas corpus issues lead to the sheriff presenting the boy before Judge Cramer in Tiffin. Bosmer drops suit after costs, Crogan gains custody.
A drunken woman seizes an infant and assaults bystanders in a brutal scene in Memphis. A police officer arrests another woman attempting to take the child. the infant dies soon after as the attacker’s husband intervenes. The mob scene ends with no arrest of the mother. June 19.
