Bowman electric shop will install flood light equipment totaling 2500 dollars on the current high school field. The lights will be moved later to the new park when ready, two years away. Two fires near Carey Saturday consumed a 40 by 64 foot barn and a 16 foot shed at J F Bakers farm north of Carey. Losses totaled about seven to eight thousand dollars with partial insurance. A second fire at Raymond Riedlinger’s farm west of Carey destroyed a large barn and its contents totaling about seven thousand dollars with limited insurance.

Stolen Car Found Stripped and Burned in Woods
An automobile stolen September 11 at Ashland was found stripped of accessories and tires, then burned in the Spook woods near Nevada in Antrim township. The sheriff of Ashland County was asked to identify the wreckage by its license plate. A similar disposal occurred near Old Fort in Seneca county, suggesting tire and accessory thieves are active in the area.
