Dispute Over $1 50 Ends With Stabbing in Carey
Ingram 20 Burns Tennessee and Arthur Thomas Castle 23 Columbus 1236 S 17th St were involved in a dispute over 1 50. Ingram stabbed Castle in the chest with a pocket knife causing a lung injury. Castle was taken to Marion City hospital and Ingram arrested. Both men belonged to an extra gang on the C and O and had prior drunken disorderly arrests in Fostoria. Ingram later hid the knife and read in his bunk before police took him to Upper Sandusky on stabbing with intent to wound charges. Castle is recovering.

Carey youth is killed on New York Central tracks
Thomas Leonard 22 of Carey is found dead beside the New York Central tracks six miles southwest of Carey. Blood near a handcar suggests the body was struck by a fast northbound freight at about 6 to 7 pm. The mangled remains and missing body parts were later partially recovered. Police and investigators including state ballistics expert examined the scene amid conflicting statements from Doppler and Shenk, with a coroner delaying final judgment. Leonard, born May 19 1918 in Bellevue, recently worked as a welder and is survived by his mother Mrs C F Blake and a brother Frederick. He was a member of local fraternal and church groups.
