Patty Campbell, 5, daughter of Mr and Mrs James M Campbell of 359 E Findlay St, suffered second and third degree burns to her abdomen and other areas after her dress caught fire while playing in the back yard. Nursemaid Kay Fields attempted to smother the flames and Patty was hospitalized at Blanchard Valley Hospital in critical condition.

Airman on furlough injured in hunting accident
Airman Nelson Gene Turnbell twenty four on furlough from the U S Air Force was wounded in a hunting accident Tuesday morning on a farm southeast of Carey near Crawford. He shot his left foot with a 12 gauge shotgun while squirrel hunting and was treated at Wyandot Memorial Hospital before transfer to a Columbus hospital. He crawled about a mile to a road before help arrived.

Accident Victim Remains in Toledo Hospital
Robert Fox of W Brown Avenue is hospitalized for at least a week at St Vincent's Hospital Toledo after an early September automobile crash in Findlay. He sustained a fractured jaw and cheekbone and a brain concussion. Carl Fox of Cleveland and his wife received treatment at Blanchard Valley Hospital and were released. Rose Caudill, another car occupant, was moved to her sister’s home after severe facial cuts and a pelvic fracture.
