W G Snyder bid on 435 ft drainage pipe and 18 inch pipe with multiple options. One motion laid the subject on the table and Snyder proposed supplying tile for a ditch project in the Carey Dow addition. A roaming horse raised complaints from residents, prompting authorities to address the nuisance.
A large human femur and several charred bones were found among debris at the Theodore Frank farm nine miles northwest of Salem. Dr. O C Stutz confirmed the first bone as a knee joint, suggesting a person died in the fire. The origin remains under investigation with tramp lodging and accidental causes considered.

He cites a 68,000 population, 27 mile island, narrow width, bay wharves, large elevators, and a two mile bridge. He notes Strand and Market streets with multi‑million investments and eastern homes raised on piles.
A. S. Gear, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Gear, died in a Washington rail accident at age fifty two. He was born here, taught school locally, later worked as a railroad conductor, and left about sixteen years ago. He had planned a Christmas visit to friends here.
