Lutheran Church Holds Morning Service and Canvass

Last Sunday Reverend Martin Wrappner preached to a large Springfield congregation at morning services. Forty men conducted the annual Every Member canvass in the afternoon. Next Sunday W E Bradley will preach in morning services. Evening program features the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society annual Thanksgiving Offering with special numbers and a good program. Services begin at 7 00 PM. Public invited.

Death of Miss Maud Mary Hornby in Marion

Miss Maud Mary Hornby died at her sister's Marion home last Wednesday morning from paralysis at age 56. Born at Little Sandusky she leaves four brothers and two sisters, including A. M. Hornby once superintendent of schools in this city.

An 8 pound daughter arrived to Mr and Mrs John Nye on November 17. A 9 44 pound daughter named Joan Marise joined Mr and Mrs Cletus Myers on Sunday morning.

Death of Mrs. A. T. McGown After Illness and Birth Tragedy

Mrs. A T McGown died after a long illness following the birth of a son who lived less than two days. Born August 10 1889 at Milford Center she was 32 3 11. Survived by husband A T McGown and four children Wilma Catherine age 9 Olive Pearl age 6 and two infant sons deceased. Funeral Thursday at 9 30 from Methodist church with Eastern Star and Dorcas Bible Class aiding in services. Interment at Broadway Union County.

Bishop-elect Stritch to pass through Carey on train

Bishop-elect Stritch travels from Cincinnati to Toledo to be consecrated bishop of the Toledo diocese. He will ride in a special car on the 12:25 Big Four train arriving Tuesday November 29, accompanied by a family party and passing Carey as the first town in the diocese on his route. An ovation at the station was cancelled due to his retreat.

Mrs. B A Mench of Wharton was seriously burned when coal oil ignited a gas as she tried to start a fire with a lighted match. Her waist and limbs suffered extensive burns but she saved her face and hair and is improving.

Detroit Couple Wed After Storm Stop at Justice Office

Friday evening about 7:00 a man and two Detroit women stopped at Justice Miles Mullholand's office and wed Charles S. Wagner, 55, a horseshoer, to Frances R. Cook, 32, a dressmaker. Pierce e4 Dillingston served as a witness.
